We are a friendly club. We have some very serious riders, a number of whom are seasoned racers. But we also have hacks and beginners so there's something for everyone. The club's mainstay rides are Sunday morning outings. Three groups (various abilities) Red, Purple and Blue, meeting at 9am in the Market Place, Westbury. Our green rides for the beginners and those wanting a more leisurely ride start at 2pm on Saturday from Market Square except on the last Saturday of each month where all coloured groups train at the Odd Down track in Bath. The fast boys (Red Group) do 70/80 quick miles, the Blue group usually rides 35-70 miles, the Purple usually follow the same route as Blue but travel a little quicker and may add a loop in. All Sunday rides stop for coffee and cake. There's a Wednesday morning ride (approx 30-40 miles) leaving the Market Place at 9.30am for those who have the time to get out mid-week. We have mid-week evening training rides in the Winter/Summer as well. In Winter, off road, in Summer, on the road of course. These tend to be all out 90 minute training sessions, with less room for chat! During the summer we have run regular open time trials and we also stage one of the Western Hard Riders series of time trials which attracts a large field. There's also a vibrant social scene with regular get togethers and trips away.
